Preparatory posture:
Stand loosely and naturally with your parallel feet a little wider than your shoulders, the place between the eyebrows unfolded, a smile on your face, your eyelids hung down a little.
Place the area between the thumb and forefinger of your right-hand palm (for man) across that of your left-hand one, and put the crossed palms on your navel button.
The procedures of the exercise:

Step 1: exhaling
Lean the top half of your body forward slowly and gradually with your breath exhaled through your mouth slowly, your belly contracted a little, your perineum raised gradually.
As soon as the top half of your body is in position of inclining 15 degrees forward, raise your perineum.
Step 2: inhaling
Return your body back to stand upright slowly with breath inhaled through your nose, your diaphragm pressed down, your belly and perineum relaxed accordingly. When you are in a stand-up position, your belly is full of breath.

The spine from cervical vertebra to tail bone is always kept oblique and straight, your head is not allowed to bow, when you lean your body forward.
It is suggested that the practice of exhaling and inhaling be done no more than 30 times respectively. When doing the practice, all of your ideas are concentrated on the pubic region of your navel belly all the time.
The emphasis of the exercise is laid on exhaling. Therefore, more attention should be paid to exhaling than to inhaling.

The exercise can promote the rhythmical changes of the chest and the belly to carry on the flow of the air pressure again by pressing the diaphragm up and down. In this exercise, the belly is protruded naturally when inhaling and it is contracted when exhaling. The mechanism of the protrusion and contraction in the belly is: when inhaling, the muscles of the chest wall are contracted, the diaphragm drops, the ribs are straightened, the thorax is spread out and the belly is expanded. When exhaling, the muscles of the chest wall are relaxed, the rib bones are dropped, the diaphragm is carried up, the thorax is diminished and the belly is shrunken, too.
The breath in this exercise is one of the breathing way which the contraction and diastole of the diaphragm predominates the protruding sport of the belly wall. This kind of breath can act on the whole lungs to make the diastolic lungs to constrain the diaphragm. While breathing in through the nose, the chest is loose and empty, the pressure of the chest is reduced to make the air drop, and the pressure in the belly rise and the belly protrude.

While breathing out through the mouth, the diaphragm is pushed up to the lungs, which makes the carbon monoxide and the turbid air at the bottom of the lungs discharge via respiratory tracks. The breathing way benefits the physiological function of human body. This is the reason why the exercise is defined as “To Inhale O2 by Exhaling Co2 through Your Mouth”
The practice of the exercise can prevent the lung tissue of the aged from withering; prevent the soft ribs from losing its elasticity and the ligaments of the chest muscles from shrinking, which influence the strength of its expansion and the breathing amount.

It is very important for a practicer to relax himself when standing. To pay attention is much better than to use strength. The contraction and protrusion of the pubic region in the belly can massage the viscera by itself to help the digestion, increase the endocrine, promote metabolism, strengthen the liver and rub it. Because the majority of the blood in the human abdominal cavity flows from the portal vein, through the liver, the liver vein, the lower vena cava and finally back to the heart, the viscera exercise conducted with the help of inhaling the good oxygen not only accelerates the blood in the viscera to flow back to the heart, but also relieves the pressure of the blood flow in many side (副) circulations and dispels the stagnant blood in the viscera, which is helpful to attain the function of good circulation and metabolism. The exercise is one of the easiest, simplest and most effective methods of health care and body-building.
